 Senator Dino Melaye has mocked Babachir Lawal over his suspension

The controversial senator took to his twitter account after Lawal’s suspension was announced to ridicule the suspended SGF

Presidency on Wednesday 19 suspended SGF and DG NIA over fraud allegation Senator Dino Melaye has laughed at Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, over his suspension. It was previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process by Lawal, with regard to the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). we also gathered that the Senate recently found Lawal guilty of complicity in the finances meant for the welfare of the Internally Displaced persons, IDPs in the north east and called on the president to remove him.

Senator Dino Melaye mocking suspended Babachir Lawal Lawal was indicted by the Senate report for allegedly contravening the provisions of the public procurement act and the federal government’s financial rules and regulations pertaining to award of contracts. Melaye took to his Twitter account, to post a written version of his now viral song “Ajeku Iya”, clearly mentioning Lawal’s name in the tweet. It read: “Babachir Lawal. Aje ku iya nio je. Eni tio toni na ton dena deni, aje ku iya nio je. Ntoooooo.”

The Senator Shehu Sani-led ad-hoc committee investigated the mismanagement and diversion of IDP funds and a company allegedly owned by Lawal was found to have been awarded a grass-clearing contract worth about N200million. He was advised to resign after the investigations were concluded, but he disregarded the Senate.
